Transport links

Bus Routes C2 & C4, the bus stops are on Chesterton road, directly across the river from the Lido. There is a pedestrian footbridge close by allowing access across the river.

From Cambridge Train station it is a 40-minute walk but there are electric scooters / bikes that can be rented by the minute via the VOI App (11 minute journey by bike / scooter).

Directions by car

From A14, 

  • leave at Junction 33 follow A1309 for Cambridge 
  • At the Milton Interchange take the first exit onto Milton Road (A1309)
  • After 1.5miles, take the 1st exit at the roundabout onto A1134
  • After 0.2miles take the 3rd exit onto Chesterton Road
  • After 0.5miles you have arrived, paid parking is on Chesterton road along the river bank.
Parking information

There is limited Paid Parking available on Chesterton Road and the Boathouse Pub also has paid parking, both are directly across the river from the Lido and there is a pedestrian bridge allowing access.

Arrangements can be made with swimmers with mobility issues.

On busy days, there are numerous larger paid parking facilities around Cambridge. The closest to the Lido is Castle Undercover Car Park (13 minute walk).

Swimming experience needed

Basic swimming experience is required. Must know at least one recognised swimming stroke.

Accessibility of venue

Fully accessible by wheelchairs, the pool is equipped with a hoist.

Facilities (including where you can get changed)

Lockers take tokens which can be purchased at reception for 50p.

Changing area (male and female), toilets (male and female), showers (male and female), sauna (mixed) and Café on site.

What to bring with you

Swimming costume / trunks / shorts, towel, goggles, change of clothes (warm).
