Swimming experience needed
- Ability to swim 50 metres continuously in a pool – ideally front crawl/breast stroke.
Accessibility of venue
- Highly accessible
- There is a sloped concrete walkway that leads to the water or a pontoon where participants can enter the water from a seated position.
Facilities (including where you can get changed)
- Two changing rooms – male and female are available
What to bring with you
- Bring swim wear you are comfortable in.
- Wetsuit and non-wetsuit swimmers are welcome.
- Optional swim hat and googles
- Towel
- Water shoes/neoprene boots are essential – this is to protect your feet from weaver fish. An old pair of trainers, sea shoes or jelly shoes will be fine. We do not recommend neoprene socks as these do not provide enough protection.
- Neoprene gloves (optional)
- Warm, loose clothes and shoes for changing in to afterwards
- Wooly hat for after and gloves
- Warm drink in a flask for after (optional)
